" I want to tell the stories of what I haven’t seen, of what I know nothing about, yet obsesses me.

To tell about these events that are part of me although I did not witness them.

To put silence into words,

To defy amnesia. "

// Leïla Slimani

Hi, I am Myriam Robert (1977) , a French-Moroccan photographer and storyteller based in the Netherlands.

I tell intimate visual stories about the people and places that move me. It is my way to connect and show that I care.  It helps me reflect on my own journey, questioning the consensus and challenging my convictions.

The notions of home, transmission and cultural Identity are recurring themes, as well as a certain sense of wonder:

I photograph my mother as a pretext to deepen our relationship and understand our family heritage. I make up tales inspired by my kids adventures and the books I used to read. I investigate the archives that my neighbour left behind. I document the everyday life of families and initiatives to bring people and communities together and I teach kids in museums.
